The Reggio Emilia Approach to Education

This Study Group will be led by REACH and pedagogists who have expert knowledge and extensive experience in the Reggio Emilia approach to education.

The Group will see first-hand why the renowned Reggio Emilia approach has been hailed as the world's best practice in Early Childhood Education. Both pre and post study group readings and dialogue sessions will enhance the synergy of the group and add value to the study group which is designed to build understanding of the philosophy, principles and practices of this renowned Approach.

The program will be developed through:

  • Presentations by and meetings with pedagogiste; atelieriste; teachers, administrators and parents of the Municipal infant toddler centres and preschools;
  • Visits to Municipal infant and toddler centres and preschools of Reggio Emilia (and private bus transportation to and from the centres);
  • Visit to the Documentation and Educational Research Centre (housed in the Malaguzzi centre)
  • Participation in pre-trip reading and dialogue sessions to support your understanding of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project;
