The Mosaic of Marks, Words, Material Exhibition-Atelier, hosted at the REACH Centre of Excellence, concluded its successful run on 20 December 2024, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended. This landmark exhibition, a collaboration across the Reggio Children international networks in Singapore, Australia, and China, marked a significant moment for the Reggio Emilia Approach in Singapore.
A Grand Opening
The exhibition was officially inaugurated on 21 November 2024 by His Excellency Dante Brandi, Italian Ambassador to Singapore. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Brandi highlighted the alignment between Italy’s renowned Reggio Emilia Approach and Singapore’s educational vision, both of which emphasise creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development in young learners. The event celebrated the first-ever Reggio Emilia exhibition in Singapore, underscoring the growing global appreciation for the principles and practices pioneered in Reggio Emilia. A Journey Through Creativity
Over the course of a month, the Mosaic of Marks, Words, Material Exhibition-Atelier attracted more than 700 visitors, including educators, parents, and children. Attendees were captivated by the rich research showcased from Reggio Emilia’s infant-toddler centres and preschools. Through the exhibit, participants explored the intricate creativity and complexity of children’s mark-making and drawing, experiencing firsthand the poetic interplay of materials, words, and expression.
