that will take place in Reggio Emilia, at the Loris Malaguzzi International centre ...

The Group will see first-hand why the renowned Reggio Emilia approach has been hailed as the world's best practice in Early Childhood Education. Both pre and post study group readings and dialogue sessions will enhance the synergy of the group and add value to the study group which is designed to build understanding of the philosophy, principles and practices of this renowned Approach.

The program will include:

  • Walking tour of the town and opportunities to encounter the community from a social, cultural and political context;
  • Background on the pedagogical, historical, cultural and social aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach to education;
  • Presentations by and meetings with pedagogistas; atelieristas; teachers, administrators and parents of the Municipal infant toddler centres and preschools of the Educational Project and essential elements in the daily life of the preschools and infant toddler centres;
  • Visits to Municipal infant and toddler centres and preschools of Reggio Emilia (and private bus transportation to and from the centres);
  • Visit to the Documentation and Educational Research Centre (housed in the Malaguzzi centre);
  • Discussion groups and opportunity to share experiences among participants;
  • Participation in pre-trip reading and dialogue sessions to support your understanding of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project;
