REAIE: Intensive Study Week in Reggio Emilia, January 2015

The Purpose of the Intensive Study Week

  • An intensive week of dialogue with a limited number of participants.
  • To create and strengthen connections with people from all sectors of education and other professions within the states and territories of Australia.
  • The study programme commences on Sunday 18th January and concludes Friday 23rd January.
  • The venue for the week is the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre.
  • Lectures will be in either English or Italian. An interpreter will be available whenever the Italian language is to be used.

The focus for the week will be on The Hundred Languages of Children and Documentation and what this means for the Australian context.

Participation will be by application.

Criteria:

1. It would be considered an advantage if applicants have previously attended a Study Tour to Reggio Emilia.

2. Preference will be given to REAIE Members working in the Australian educational context.

Application Process

Each applicant must submit an expression of interest of no more than 500 words in response to the following:

  • Their ability and commitment to make a difference after the study tour, not just for themselves and their own work, but also for other colleagues.
  • Their ability and commitment to widely disseminate what they have learnt.

Study Programme Cost

The cost of the 2015 Intensive Study Week is $2500.00AU.

N.B The fee is an all-inclusive cost to all participants and cannot be altered for non-use of some of the components, e.g. land transportation, etc.

N.B It does not include accommodation, airfares, insurance, transfers or other associated costs.

Application and Registration Timeline

  • Applicants need to register their interest by no later than 12pm Thursday 14th August 2014. Applications can be sent by fax, email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or post.
  • Applicants will be notified of the outcome by email on Monday 1st September 2014.
  • Successful applicants will then be invoiced for the full amount, with payment in full due by Wednesday 1st October 2014.
  • Delegates who cancel their registration after payment has been made will incur an administration fee of $50.
  • Delegates who cancel their registration after payment has been made by Reggio Australia to Reggio Children will incur total loss of fee of $2500.
